Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Comparing Both Versions

The original version of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) was made in 1969. The main cast were:

Mike Pratt as Jeff Randall
Kenneth Cope as Marty Hopkirk
Annette Andre as Jeannie Hopkirk.

In 2000, a new series was launched on the BBC. This version's main cast were:

Bob Mortimer as Jeff Randall
Vic Reeves as Marty Hopkirk
Emilia Fox as Jeannie Hurst.

The original series is laid-back for the most part, with sophisticated humour. In contrast, the new version is more slapstick and outrageous.

The original is the sort of series that I prefer. Its humour is more natural in feel, and the main characters are very easy to like. However, I really enjoy the new one too, even though I hate slapstick comedy and am not a huge fan of Vic and Bob. The storyline is very good (and funny) and I think I like it most because it's so different from the original, meaning that it doesn't feel like it's competing with it in any way.

My verdict is to try both, because both versions are extremely well done and enjoyable.
